It's the final countdown...

Today is December 1st – the countdown to Christmas...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH

The local radio stations have already started playing Christmas songs. Unfortunately it’s the same freaking 12 songs over and over and over. It’s not annoying enough until I hear Bruce Springsteen’s slaughter of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. I have not heard it yet, but it’s coming. “You know what time it is? What ? What? Huh? What? , It’s Christmas time, What? Huh?, you guys been good this year or what? Huh? What? I can’t hear you? What?” Hey, can somebody get Bruce a hearing aid for Christmas this year? WHAT?

I hate the traffic and the people bumping into me at the mall. The horror stories of Black Friday tramplings, the moaning and groaning of retailers “we’re not making any money…waaaaaa..”. The news people talking about the best deals and the hot toys for kids. The flow of repackaged greatest hits albums. I am probably going to buy the making of The Beatles Unplugged Greatest Hits Rarities Anthlogy XXXIV, available on a double blue-ray DVD disc at a special one time only price of $498.00.

The office Christmas parties and the secret santa. UGH...

My favorite day of the year is December 26th when it’s all OVER.

However, at the risk of sounding all Scroogy, I do look forward to watching the cartoon version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas and all those wonderful puppet shows. The year Without A Santa Claus is the best one, with the Heatmiser and the Snowmiser. I thought I saw somewhere that there is a sequel this year. That will suck for sure. Of course, Christmas is not
complete without the greatest Christmas show of all.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

I still tear up when Linus does his speech.
I can tell you what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown:

And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day
in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was
with the angel a multitude
of the heavenly host praising God,
and saying,
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace,
good will toward men.
That’s what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanza, Seasons Greetings, to ALL !!
